Global 30-m spatial distribution of forest cover in 2022 (GFC_30m_2022)
2022 high spatial resolution global forest cover products were generated using time series satellite data, machine learning algorithm, and cloud computing platform.Using time-series Landsat 7/8 satellite data, global eco-geographic zoning, and crowdsourced sample data, a forest and non-forest sample database was constructed. A machine learning algorithm (Random Forest model) was employed to develop and produce a 30-meter resolution global forest cover product.
